Background information about paTap Waters founder Pat Lang |
I have dedicated four decades to improving public health through my work in the municipal drinking water and wastewater field. I am passionate about the work I do to assure sustainability; this passion and knowledge will result in reliable service to my clients and customers. My start on this endeavor begin in high school. With two bothers and a brother-in-law who were successful professional engineers they shared with me their passion for applying science to make the world a healthier and safer place to live. Due to this family influence I became a civil engineer in 1971 with a major in transportation, specializing in the planning and design of roads. My first jobs were teaching plane elementary surveying, managing an origin-destination study on the Alaska Highway, and working for the City of Calgary transportation department. In 1973, I was offered a job in the sewer division with the City of Calgary, and since then I have worked exclusively in the municipal drinking water and wastewater field. After 35 years with Alberta Environment, the last 16 years as a leader and senior manager of the Alberta drinking water/wastewater programs, I retired from government to pursue other interests and transfer my knowledge to customers and clients. |
At paTap Water we look forward to the day when all Canadians and Albertans are assured safe drinking water supplies and high quality effluent discharges from municipal wastewater systems. To that end, we expect to provide accurate advice and services to clients and customers based on my knowledge, experience, and sound scientific advice.
